Overview

This summer series continues the study of handbuilding through sustained studio practice. Working over multiple weeks allows students to develop longer-term projects while deepening their understanding of clay construction and surface.

Participants will explore coil and slab techniques, experiment with surface treatments, and move through glazing and firing as work progresses.

What You’ll Work On

– Coil and slab construction techniques

– Developing vessels and sculptural forms

– Surface experimentation and texture

– Glaze testing and finishing work

– Independent project development

Who It’s For

Open to beginners as well as returning students interested in developing their ceramic practice over a longer term.

Tuition $480 includes:

• Studio tools and equipment

• Glazes and firings

• 12.5 lb clay

Additional clay available for purchase.

Studio may photograph workshops and residents unless requested otherwise.
