Overview
This six-week course introduces the fundamentals of color through the medium of gouache. Working through structured exercises and guided studies, students will explore how hue, value, saturation, and temperature interact to create visual harmony and contrast.
Using still life and simple compositional studies, participants will develop a deeper understanding of color relationships while learning how to mix, balance, and control paint on the page. The course emphasizes observation and experimentation as students build confidence working with color.

– Tonal and value scales
– Complementary and temperature contrasts
– Basic composition and color relationships
– Gouache handling and layering techniques
Who It’s For
Open to beginners as well as artists interested in strengthening their understanding of color.
